2-part virtual series on Tuesdays, November 10 and 17th from 6-7:30 EDT

“When I am among the trees, . . .
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.” – Mary Oliver

How can we access the gift of tree wisdom in this changing season? What do tree life phases and our own share in common? And how can we celebrate that partnership on the labyrinth?

Throughout the history of labyrinths, there is evidence that in anxious times, there is a resurgence of their use as tools for spiritual practice and healing. This is one those times.

As pilgrims, we gather in virtual Circle to celebrate our odysseys on the curves of the labyrinth, whose quadrants echo the cycles of tree life and our own. Honoring our “soul tree” and the Celtic Tree Zodiac, we will harvest new seeds of Birth Time and explore inner and outer pathways for an awakened consciousness of harmonious earth partnerships.

This embodied journey includes rituals, journal prompts, simple movement, chants, expanded imaginings and finger labyrinth walks interwoven into this 2-part series on Tuesdays, November 10 and 17th from 6-7:30 EDT.

Celtic Tree Zodiac and labyrinth will be provided in advance.

Your guide in the series will be Barrie Carter Gibby.

Barrie Carter Gibby works on that creative edge between the branches of words and movement expression. A long-time educator, community builder, avid traveler and labyrinth facilitator, Barrie entwines her background in design, music, theater production and ritual-making to facilitate workshops and pilgrimages across the nation on a variety of themes. She is especially fascinated by the parallels of Celtic and Native American cultures and their loving embrace of nature centered whole life. Her annual pilgrimage to the 13th c. Chartres Cathedral labyrinth, in Chartres, France, provokes inspired passion for her ongoing labyrinth work. As a Veriditas Advanced Certified Labyrinth facilitator, Barrie finds sacred spaces everywhere.
