About the Series: Sharing, Caring, and Daring: What greater gift to give than to share, care, and dare together? At Kirkridge, that is one of our hopes in 2021 and beyond. We want our ever-expanding community to share their stories, hear the wisdom in the room, and learn from other’s daring adventures.
These conversational discussions will include a facilitated Q&A and open forum for conversation with the guest speaker(s) and among those attending with a little bit of charming storytelling! Through this series, we’ll engage with new ideas, promote emerging leader’s work, and encourage each other to think boldly!
About Jim and Martha and their experience…
Twelve months ago, Jim and Martha’s county council voted to keep a confederate statue on the courthouse lawn. Galvanized, their small group has not stopped speaking up, mostly with both on-site and zoom rallies with community voices of all kinds – faith leaders, historians, veterans, youth leaders, lawyers, and political leaders. They’ll share about when hundreds marched and rallied on Juneteenth for a common goal of doing the important and difficult work of healing, in community, from racism. This is another step on their journey, and as they say, the work goes on.
